Data collection practices
A clear list of what we collect on the website and app, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
Account & identity
When you register or sign in we may collect:
- Name and email address.
- Password (stored as a secure hash — we never store plain text passwords).
- Optional social sign-in identifiers (e.g. Google, Apple) if you choose that method.
- SMS verification codes (hashed, short-lived) if you use phone sign-in.
- Role (member, teacher, admin) for staff accounts.
Dancer profiles
Added by the account holder for each person attending class:
- Dancer name and age.
- Class assignment (Spark, Ignite, or Shine).
- Emergency contact name, phone, and relationship.
- Optional additional needs or access information (e.g. allergies, support requirements).
Portal & app activity
To provide member services we may process:
- Class schedules, absence notices, and attendance marks (staff).
- Private practice video metadata, watch status, and secure streaming access.
- Guidance and class music links you open (Spotify / Apple Music are third-party services).
- In-app notifications and read/unread status.
- Missed-class billing lines and payment references shown in your portal.
- Support network invites (name, email, relationship, notification preferences).
- Studio calendar events and .ics calendar files you download or subscribe to.
Technical & device data
Automatically or when you enable features:
- Session cookie or app token — keeps you signed in securely.
- Push notification device token (mobile app, if you allow notifications).
- Browser local storage — optional class reminder times on the public website (stays on your device).
- Server logs — IP address, user agent, and request timing for security and debugging (short retention).
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data to advertisers. We do not use third-party advertising trackers on the member portal. We do not record practice videos without staff upload. We do not access your Spotify or Apple Music account — we only store links Abi provides.
Your controls
In the member portal or app you can update notification preferences, manage dancer profiles, and remove support network members. You can sign out to clear your session on a device.
For access, export, correction, restriction, objection, consent withdrawal, or erasure, use Your data rights in the portal (or app) or email us. We will confirm receipt and tell you if we need more information.
